It is a traditional slate flagstone which is commonly laid with a wide grout line to give the appearance of aged natural stone flooring. It is available in flagstone sizes. It is frost resistant. Black Slate Riven Pavers have a non-slip surface and therefore are an ideal type of natural stone flooring to use externally.
